Jamie Mowers’ PageMiles for Hope
With over 400,000 missing children reported each year it is crucial that we continue to support non-profit organizations like the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Although 90% of the reported missing children are considered endangered runaways, one and six of them will be involved in child sex trafficking. That is over 60,000 kids every year. For reference, the population of Herkimer County was approximately $61,000 in 2019. In a time where social justice is at the forefront of conversation and political commentary we should be doing what we can to stop the vulnerable from being taken or taken advantage of. NCMEC supports law enforcement agencies through providing assistance in age progressions, raising awareness, performing research to identify trends and establish safety tips. Organizations like NCMEC need our support so that they can continue to provide focused, on-mission assistance to law enforcement, families and forensic professionals to recover missing and exploited children and prevent future abductions and exploitations.
